2018 World Cup: Rakitić warns Super Eagles, says Croatia will do ‘everything’ to beat Nigeria

Croatia midfielder, Ivan Rakitić, has warned Super Eagles that Zlatko Dalić’s men will do ‘everything’ possible to beat Nigeria when both sides clash on Saturday at the Kaliningrad Stadium in the 2018 World Cup in Russia.

The Barcelona star, however, admitted that the game against the Eagles will not be easy for the Balkans.

Croatia are in Group D of the 2018 World Cup alongside Nigeria, Argentina and Iceland.

The Balkans have not won an opening game at the World Cup since 1998.

Rakitić is hoping they can improve on their opening day fixture when they face the Gernot Rohr’s men.

”We know how important it is to have a good tournament, and we have to do everything to beat Nigeria, even though nothing has been resolved,” Rakitic told reporters.

”We know they’re a dangerous team with good players, we have to be ready. We know that everyone is expecting to be right, we first, I’m confident we will be ready.”
