Zambia is planning to hold a training camp in Europe, ahead of next month’s 2018 World Cup qualifier against Nigeria in Uyo.
The Chipolopolo gave themselves a strong chance of overhauling the Super Eagles at the top of Group B, after taking six points off Algeria in their last two games.
Head coach of the team, Wedson Nyirenda, has now said part of their preparations, will involve camping in Europe.
“We have been talking to the Football Association of Zambia [FAZ] and they are also interested in camping the team outside the country and if that comes it will be a bonus to the players,” Nyirenda said upon arrival in Zambia from Algeria.
The president of the Football Association in Zambia, Andrew Kamanga, also said it would be wise for the players to train in Europe, ahead of the October 7 clash.
“As you know some of the players are already in Europe, they didn’t come with us they have already gone back and we may see it fit to camp the team abroad so that it is easier to prepare the team adequately,” Kamanga said.
