Nigeria took a big step in their quest to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia, after they beat Algeria 3-1 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state.
The Super Eagles defeated Zambia 2-1 in their first game of the series and with Cameroon held to a 1-1 draw by the Zambians, they needed to create a strangehold.
Victor Moses opened scoring in the first half, after the ball broke kindly to him inside the box. His Chelsea team-mate, John Mikel Obi, made it 2-0 before the break.
The Eagles captain had time and space inside the box after beating the offside trap, to coolly slot past the keeper.
Nabil Bentaleb pulled one back for the Desert Warriors with a screaming strike that left Daniel Akpeyi stranded, before Moses finished off a quick counter-attack late in the game.
Nigeria now lead the group with six points. Cameroon have two, while Zambia and Algeria have one each.
