Iceland central defender, Kari árnason has identified Super Eagles’ weakness his team will capitalise on to beat Nigeria on Friday.
Iceland will face Nigeria in their second Group D match on Friday with the West African giants hoping to redeem their image after falling 2-0 to Croatia on Saturday.
árnason said his teammates will capitalize on the Super Eagles set-piece weakness to beat them.
Gernot Rohr’s men’s greatest problem is defending set-pieces and they have lost against England, Czech Republic and Croatia in their last three games, four goals in total, conceded from set play.
The Icelandic national team are the tallest team at the World Cup.
Their standing on an average height of 1.85 meters, could be dangerous during aerial battles, free-kicks and corner kicks.
”I do not doubt they try to make it clear after conceding two goals against Croatia,” árnason was quoted as saying by Fotbolti.
“I doubt it will be open, but nonetheless, we are good at set plays and should take advantage of them.”
