Iceland assistant manager, Helgi Kolviðsson has spoken about the Super Eagles of Nigeria, after their 2-2 draw with Ghana in a warm-up game on Thursday.
Iceland is Nigeria’s second Group D opponents at the 2018 World Cup billed to kick off next week.
They were forced to settle for a 2-2 with Ghana in their final international match before traveling to Russia.
The Icelandic team scored through Kari Arnason and Alfred Finnbogason in the first half, but second half goals from Kasim Nuhu and Atletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey saw the match finish 2-2.
Kolviðsson told reporters at the game, “We received a lot of positive answers in these two friendly games against Norway and Ghana.
”Ghana has a very strong team and they are not at all different to Nigeria, and it was good for boys to play this game tonight.
”The goal of these two friendlies was that people were healthy when they arrive in Russia and it succeeded.”
Iceland will face Argentina in their first match in the World Cup at Otkritie Arena in Moscow on June 16 before they face the Super Eagles six days later in Volgograd.
