Former Nigeria international, Celestine Babayaro has said that the Super Eagles will struggle to break teams down without Moses Simon, who has been ruled out of the World Cup in Russia.
Simon was finally ruled out today, after a scan in London confirmed he will be out for a period of two weeks.
In an interview with Owngoalnigeria.com, Babayaro highlighted the Genk forward’s abilities which will be missed.
“It’s a pity that the Super Eagles won’t have the crafty Moses Simon for the World Cup. He is one player who can go past players in a flash.
“His omission will no doubt affect the team when it comes to breaking down opponents who are set up in a defensive way.
“Simon dribbles very well and that is a plus because the team can’t boast of a better player than him when it comes to taking opponents out for others to penetrate. We no longer have players who can dribble like we use to and that is why his omission will hurt the team,” Babayaro said
