Head coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr, was very impressed with Kelechi Nwakali’s performance in Tuesday’s 3-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid and might add him to his World Cup squad.

Nwakali who is on loan from Premier League side, Arsenal, opened scoring with a brilliant effort to beat Jan Oblak and put in an impressive display in the match.

Rohr was in the stands, as the B side played the friendly game at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.

The German could be tempted to add Nwakali to his squad, if one of the 30 players in his provisional list suffers an injury.

FIFA rules stipulate that a player not on the provisional list of a country heading to the World Cup, can be included if one of the players in the list suffers an injury ruling him out of the tournament.

A replacement can be added to the pool and it is only possible 24 hours before the first game of the tournament which starts June 14.
