The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has banned the use of wrist watches and pens for the 2018 Mock Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) which would now hold on Feb. 26.

The banned items is contained in a memo by the Secretary of JAMB UTME Monitoring Group, Ngozi Egbuna.

The memo reads: “Kindly note that examination officials are allowed to scrutinise eye glasses or similar devices and where convinced that such item may compromise the sanctity of the examination, the examination official should confiscate it.

“Where examination official (board staff or ad hoc staff) or any authorised person is found with any of these prohibited items in the examination hall, such compromising action would be treated as a deliberate act of examination sabotage and necessary sanction will be applied.”

Recall that the board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjami had said “Candidates will soon be informed on when to print notifications for the examination and in addition, notifications will be sent through e-mails and text messages on the schedules of their examination.”
