2017 Grammy Award: Rihanna denies dissing Beyoncé over nominations

Rihanna has denied allegations that she slammed Beyoncé over the Grammy 2017 nominations for song of the year and album of the year because she was not nominated.

The alleged feud between duo emanated when Rihanna liked a picture of a fanpage @rihannafanpage_ on Instagram that dissed Grammy nomination for excluding Rihanna’s ‘ANTI’ as album of the year.

The fan complained that it was unjust and unfair that Rihanna’s ANTI album was not nominated as album of the year alongside Beyoncé’s album LEMONADE as the ‘barbados’ singer deserved a spot in the Grammy nomination for album of the year alongside Beyoncé .

“Congrats to all and Rihanna for her 8 Grammy nods but to be honest, fuck them because they snubbed her for Song of the Year and Album of the Year.

“Like how my nigga!? I think they didn’t want her tied or passing someone else *cough cough*

“Cause if they wouldn’t have played her she would have been in the lead with most Grammy nods. Fuck u Grammys, ANTI did amazing things this year and y’all played her. I think y’all shook!” the fan wrote.

The “Work” singer reacted on Instagram saying it was a misunderstanding as she just liked the picture without reading the content and did not intend to slam Beyonce by just liking a picture of herself she described as being funny.

She said: “I never actually read your caption, thought the pic was funny and moved right along, till i saw it pop up over and over!

“I wish you all would drop this topic and see things from the bigger picture

“We don’t need to be putting black women against each other!

“We deserve to be celebrated, and the Grammy Academy agrees!”

Though the ‘Barbados’ singer was not named a finalist for either song of the year or album of the year, she received eight Grammy nominations including one for Record of the Year for her favorite hit with Drake, “Work.”

Beyoncé leads the way with a total of nine nominations including Album of the Year alongside Adele, Drake, Kanye West.

The Grammy Awards will be staged on February 12 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
