2017 Community Shield: Victor Moses, Koscielny cleared to play in Arsenal vs Chelsea

Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, will have Laurent Koscielny available for Sunday’s Community Shield game against Chelsea.

The defender was sent off in the final game of the Premier League campaign vs Everton, leading to a three-game ban.

Koscielny served the first game of that suspension against the Blues in the FA Cup final, two more will carry over to this season.

The Community Shield was thought to count as one of those, but the FA have confirmed that they consider the game to be a friendly, meaning Koscielny will be free to play.

This means he is unavailable for both the season opener against Leicester and the trip to Stoke a week later.

The same rule will therefore apply for Chelsea and Victor Moses, meaning Antonio Conte is free to use the Super Eagles star on Sunday. He will however be available against Burnley.

Moses was given his marching orders at Wembley in the FA Cup final last season. Attachments area
