Super Eagles defender Godfrey Oboabona, has warned that the team must learn from its past mistakes and be ready for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying series.
Nigeria has been grouped with former champions Egypt, Chad and Tanzania in the recently conducted draws.
Oboabona, who was part of the team that failed to qualify for the 2015 edition in Equatorial Guinea, says all hands must be on deck to avoid a recurrence.
“I have seen the draws and what I have to say is that it is a good and difficult group and we must start work immediately, Oboabona told Goal.
“The administrators must do their part while we the players too are not left behind. We must be focused and work as a team.
“We must see it as a collective task and we must all be determined to do Nigerians proud this term after the disappointment of missing the 2015 edition.
“We must take all our opponents serious and we must not show respect for any of them from Egypt to Chad. We need to ensure that we pick all the available points either home or away. This is the only way by which we can get our desired result.”
