LHead coach of Nigeria’s U-23 team, Samson Siasia, is ready to drop former Golden Eaglets top scorer, Victor Osimehn, from his squad to this year’s Olympics.
Siasia will reportedly replace Osimhen with Roma striker, Sadiq Umar.
Osimhen has opted to play for the U-20 side, which is currently in camp in Abuja, ahead of this month’s African U-20 Cup of Nations qualifier against Burundi.
“Coach Samson Siasia has given up on Osimhen for now and has opted to call Roma striker Sadiq Umar,” a source told Completesportsnigeria.com.
“He did everything to have the young man in his team but things did not work out as planned
“Siasia is already looking ahead and has resigned to fate over Osimhen’s issue and opted to call Sadiq Umar who has been doing well at Roma.”
Umar scored five goals for the Roma senior side, before coach Luciano Spalletti’s arrived at the Stadio Olimpico and moved him to the team B, where he has netted 19 goals from 18 matches so far.
