Following directives from the All Progressives Congress, APC, the former Chairman of House of Representatives Committee on Appropriation, Abdulmumin Jibrin has backed down on his media campaign against the Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara and other principal officers of the lower legislative chambers.
Jibrin had accused Dogara, his deputy, Yusuf Lasun; Chief Whip, Alhassan Ado Danguwa and Minority Leader, Leo Ogor of attempting to illegally insert over N40bn into the 2016 budget.
Since his initial allegation against the Speaker and other principal officers of the House, the lawmaker had continued to level more allegations on them.
Following Jibrin’s media campaign, the National Working Committee of the party had on Thursday in a letter urged him to stop further comments on the matter.
Responding to the directive, the lawmaker who took to his twitter handle @AbdulAbmJ, said “Since I can’t post anything else, let me just celebrate my wife…”
