Former chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Appropriations, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has arrived the office of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission, ICPC, to submit his petition against Speaker Yakubu Dogara and three other principal officers of the lower legislative chamber.
Jibrin had recently accused the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Yusuf Lasun, Chief Whip, Alhassan Ado Doguwa and Minority Leader, Leo Ogor of attempting to pad N40bn into the 2016 budget.
Earlier on Monday, Jibrin had taken to his twitter handle, @AbdulAbmj to announce that he would be visiting some security agencies in a bid to make them understand the magnitude of the corruption allegation he leveled against the Speaker.
The Kano-born lawmaker had promised to fully cooperate with investigators in proving his claims against Dogara and the other principal officers of the House.
He had said, “We will be at the ICPC 10am, DSS 12noon, EFCC 2pm and Police HQ 4pm. The law will surely catch up with the corrupt Speaker Dogara and others.
“My lawyers have confirmed my appointments for today, Monday, with security and anti corruption agencies to personally provide insight on my petition.”
