The 2016/2017 Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will commence in the first week of December.
This was revealed by Alloy Chukwuemeka, who is the executive secretary of the NPFL Club Owners.
He was speaking at an interactive session with the Sport Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Osun Chapter on Thursday.
Chukwuemeka stated that the League Management Company (LMC), has proposed the first week of December for the new season to kick off and they will consider it at the Annual General Meeting of the Club Owners.
He however commended the LMC for turning the league around and making it attractive to corporate bodies.
“The LMC has turned around the league in Nigeria,” he said.
“The league is now attractive and there are about eight firms lobbying to be part of the league.
“The LMC has set a standard and that is why many firms want to be part of the NPFL.”
