Governor Martin Elechi of Ebonyi State has warned Nigerians against casting their votes for some politicians he described as robbers and liars.

The governor said President Goodluck Jonathan was a leader that will remain unbeatable by any other candidate in 2015 general elections due to his numerous achievements in the last four years.

The governor stated this on Friday while addressing supporters at the Abakaliki Township Stadium during a mega rally organized by the state government in support of President Goodluck Jonathan’s second term bid in 2015.

According to the governor, it is due to the numerous achievements of the President that people are now clamouring for his return in 2015, saying that President Jonathan doesn’t discriminate on the basis of religion, ethnicity and race.

He asked: “Ebonyians, will you vote for robbers? Will you vote for liars? At a time we were being tempted, our state working committee of the party is being tempted. We continue to appeal to you to be steadfast, to remain calm and don’t resort to vio lence, that means not out of fear but out of love for our people because if there is violence and you cannot vote that means you deny Jona than your votes, we know their tricks, they are armed robbers.

“Despite all odds, Jonathan is not deterred to do justice to all manner of people not minding who is against him, that is our role model, that is what we replicate everywhere in Nigeria, more especially in Ebonyi State” Elechi stated.

The Chairman of the occasion, Chief Fidelis Nwankwo said that the state was in full support of Mr. President and that informed the massive support at the rally.

Others who spoke at the rally include Senator Emmanuel Onwe, Senator Chris Nwankwo, and Senator Sonny Ogbuorji, immediate past Minister of Health, Prof. Onyebuchi Chukwu.
