2015: Violence may mar Nigeria’s democracy – CAC president, Akinosun


The President, Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) world wide, Pastor Abraham Akinosun today warned politicians against violence during the next year’s general election.

He contended that any act of violence during and after the polls could spell doom for the nation.

Besides, the Church leader cautioned Politicians against the use of charms and arms during the elections.

Akinosun who Spoke with reporters shortly after performing the ordination of over 1,000 new Pastors of the church at Babalola Memorial Centre,Ikeji-Arakeji noted that the attitude of Politicians towards the forthcoming elections could cause disunity in the country.

The CAC President urged Nigerian Politicians to learn from other nations of the world and ensure the continuous existence of the country.

He emphasised that God detests charms and its uses,saying it is an abomination for people to promote the use of charms during election.

According to him “killing, maiming and other violent acts by Politicians will affect this nation negatively because every ungodly act has repercursion. It is therefore incumbent on Politicians to eschew violence during the elections.”

On those storing arms and charms in their custody ahead of 2015 election, the Cleric said they would be disappointed, assuring that 2015 elections would be peaceful.

He urged the leaders and the entire citizenry not to express fear ahead of next year, noting that it would mark a turning point in the history of the country.
