Ex-Niger Delta militant leader, Ateke Tom has declared his support for the former Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike in 2015 governorship election.
It was reported that Ateke Tom, who vowed to contest against Wike was summoned to a meeting with the First Lady, Patience Jonathan, who brokered a deal with the ex-militant.
Meanwhile, during Wike’s endorsement visit to Okrika, the home town of the First Lady and Ateke Tom, the former Niger-Delta agitator said Wike is the right man to govern Rivers State.
He promised to mobilise support to ensure that the former Minister wins the party primaries and the main election come 2015.
“Anything you (Wike) chose to do I will follow. I will support you to the end. I wish yo goodluck. Just continue with what you are doing,” Ateke promised.
On his part, while addressing a crowd of supporters in Okrika Local government area, Wike debunked rumours that he has purchased form for a Senatorial position and also stressed that he does not intend to step down for any aspirant in the state.
