The Jigawa State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, on Sunday, said it has taken delivery of 4,263 card readers.
This was disclosed by Alhaji Haliru Tambawel, the State Resident Electoral Commission, in a chat with journalist. He said the card readers received would be used in 4,083 polling units in the State.
Tambawel, further affirmed that he has also received over 90 per cent of non- sensitive materials in preparation for the polls.
According to Tambawel, the State electoral body has trained about 16,700 ad hoc staff most of whom are corps members and staff of tertiary institutions.
The Jigawa State REC noted that the commission was currently engaged in series of meetings with stakeholders which is targeted at successful elections.
