2015: El-Rufai, Tambuwal, Ambode, others pick APC governorship tickets


Leading opposition party, the All Progressives Congress, APC, has elected its flag bearers ahead of the 2015 governorship election.

In Lagos State, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and public administrator, Akinwunmi Abode emerged winner.

Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, who withdrew from the presidential race, won in Sokoto just as a former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nasir el-Rufai picked the ticket in Kaduna.

Other second-term-seeking governors, Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun); Abdulfattah Ahmed (Kwara) and Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo) got return tickets respectively.

Others are, a member representing Andoni/Opobo/Nkoro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr. Dakuku Peterside (Rivers); Olorogun O’tega Emerhor (Delta); Chief Okey Ezea (Enugu); a former Secretary to the Akwa Ibom State Government, Mr. Umana Umana (Akwa Ibom), Ibrahi Gaidam (Yobe), Umaru Al-Makura (Nasarawa) and Abdulaziz Yari (Zamfara).
