The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has reassured its aspirants of a free, fair and level playing ground during its primaries to elect candidates for the 2015 general elections.
The Deputy Chairman of the party in Anambra, Chief Ifeanyi Udokwu, gave the assurance in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Monday.
According to him, all the primaries to be conducted by the party will be transparent, free and fair and perfectly in order and accepted by the people.
The deputy chairman also stressed that the party had not endorsed any aspirant as sole candidate as being speculated or rumoured in some quarters.
“The party has not endorsed anybody, I can assure you; we have not even conducted our delegate elections and primaries, so how can we endorse someone before these processes.
“APGA has been careful about the procedures because if anything or action is questioned by the party faithful, it might cause a revolution,” Udokwu said.
He disclosed that more than 160 aspirants obtained the party’s nomination forms for House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the Senate seats in the state.
NAN reports that there are three Senatorial, 11 House of Representatives and 30 House of Assembly seats to be vied for by aspirants in the state.
The party had fixed its primaries for Nov. 18, Nov. 24 and Nov. 28 for the House of Assembly, House of Representatives and the Senate respectively.
