Erstwhile Minister of State for Agriculture, Dr. Jonah Madugu, has flayed Prof. Ango Abdullahi, over his open declaration and his postion on who becomes Nigeria’s President in 2015.
The elder statesman while describing Abdullahi as a ‘lone ranger’ who has no mandate from the northern elders to speak on their behalf noted that he’s just being sentimental.
Madugu who hailed the position of another northern elder, Prof. Abba Gana, stated that President Goodluck Jonathan should be allowed to complete his second term in office.
The second term of Mr. president is expected to expire by 20-19 if he’s re-elected in 2015.
However, Abdullahi was recently quoted as calling on the Peoples Democratic Party and the newly registered All Progressives Congress to present northern presidential candidates in the 2015 presidential election.
Reacting to Abdulahi’s assertion, Madugu, in a statement in Jos on Monday, however, said not only was such, “sentiments undemocratic, but they portrayed Abdulallhi as naive.”
He declared that nobody appointed Abdullahi as a spokesman for the north.
