The governor made the call in his Christmas message, urging Nigerians to pray so the country can overcome the insurgency and bloodletting going on in the country.
The governor urged parents to be vigilant and ensure that their children and wards are not used as tools for violence during campaigns in the forthcoming elections.

“As the various political parties begin their campaigns and we move towards the election period, let us always pray for our nation and shun all forms of violence. We are Nigerians and we have nowhere else to go. We should also pray that God touches the hearts of those shedding the blood of innocent citizens,” he added.
