2000 PDP members defect to APC in Delta

No fewer than 2000 members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, including, Hon. Fidelis Akewhore have defected to the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

The defection took place during a meeting presided over by the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Isoko, Sir Godwin Dimwabor.

Receiving the decampees, Sir Dimwabor appealed to aggrieved and frustrated politicians in other political parties in the local government to close ranks and join APC.

The APC boss lauded Hon Akwhore and other members who joined the party for accepting the truth, just as he described them as people of integrity.

Former member representing the people of Isoko in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon Odhegolor Abikelegbe stated that the decision of the new party members to join the APC was a good and timely one.

He also commended Hon Akewhore and other defectors describing them as people of proven integrity.

Addressing a mammoth crowd, Hon. Fidelis Akewhore urged the people of Isoko to embrace the APC as a party that would salvage thrm from poverty.

Akewhore stated that he and others decided to join the most positive and prosperous party in Delta State.

“I am like John the Baptist who came to prepare the way for Jesus. I will preach the gospel of change to all other political bigwigs that are still hiding under the canopy of service to embrace this wind of change in order to rebuild Nation of our dream”, he said.

Akewhore also enjoined his supporters to discard the politics of money, politics of godfatherism, and believe in the present APC led Federal Government, stressing that they must ensure that their votes counted in subsequent elections come 2019.

In a chat, one of the defected members, Chief Godwin Atarowho attributed the economic hardship ravaging the country to PDP bad governance in the country.
