200 students bag first degree in Federal University Lokoja

The Federal University Lokoja (FUL) will on Saturday confer over 200 graduates First Degrees in various disciplines.

Vice Chancellor of the institution, Professor Angela Freeman Miri, disclosed this on Monday at a Pre-Convocation news conference in Lokoja.

She said the management of the institution is determined not to delay students from graduating in record time.

“We shall continue to do everything within our power to avert situations that would culminate in accumulating arrears of convocation”.

According to the Vice Chancellor, the convocation is the second of its kind in the history of FUL.

On achievements recorded by the institution since its establishment, Professor Angela hinted that the National University Commission (NUC) has accredited all established programmes in the Faculty of Arts, and Social Science and has given interim accreditation in the Faculty of Sciences.

She added that efforts are on to take-off Post Graduate education in the institution.

“Federal University Lokoja is mindful of the need to improve postgraduate education in our country.

“Therefore careful planning for its take-off in FUL would guarantee a new revolution in post graduate education with a view to providing solutions to the challenges of our community in particular and the nation in general, especially in all sectors and sub-sectors of the economy” Miri said.
