185 drugs suspects nabbed by NDLEA in Cross River

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Cross River State Command has said that no fewer than 185 suspects have been arrested with illicit drugs across the State.

The state Commander of the anti-narcotic agency, Mrs. Anthonia Edeh, made this disclosure on Friday during the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, which was tagged, “let’s develop our lives, our communities, our identities without drugs.”

Edeh stressed that the suspects were rounded up with drugs totalling 1.4 tonnes of cannabis sativa, 6.4035kg of cocaine and 18 grammes of heroin.

She further noted that the street value of the drugs seized was over a million naira.

The state Commander explained that the suspects rounded up were 175 males and 10 females.

Edeh also said the agency has discovered 4.741 acres of cannabis sativa farmlands at Abijan, Etung local government area of the state.

She added that the farmlands with a street value of over N70m have been destroyed by the agency.
