Residents of Rumuchakara village in Choba community, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State have been thrown into mourning after an 18-year-old girl killed her mother with a plank for been asked to cook.
According to a family source, the 18-year-old girl killed her mother on Wednesday after a disagreement ensued between her and the deceased because she was asked to prepare evening meal.
DAILY POST gathered that the young girl was slapped by her mother for refusing to heed her directive. Angered by the slap, the 18-year-old picked up a plank and smashed her mother’s head.
It was learnt that efforts made to save the woman’s life from the fatal injury yielded no result.
The girl was said to have fled the community following the news of her mother’s death on Thursday, however leaders of the community were said to have banished the young girl from the community.
