18 Chinese pilgrims visit Anambra to understudy Catholicism

Eighteen Chinese Christian converts from Guangzhou district of China on Tuesday visited the Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Uke, in Idemili South Local Government Area of Anambra State to understudy doctrines of the Catholic Church. The team speaking though its leader, Mary Lu, asked Christians in Nigeria to pray for China to receive Jesus Christ into their lives, explaining that they were in Nigeria to understudy the Catholic doctrines after converting to Catholicism, which they confessed was new in their country.

The Spiritual Director of Holy Ghost Adoration Ministry, Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma, who received the delegation, commended them for their devotion.

He asked Christians to pray for the Chinese, especially their Christians, adding that it was difficult to worship Christ in such a Communist nation.

Obimma commended the Divine Love Prayer group in Guangzhou led by Emeka Ugoagwu for planting Catholicism in the area.

He called on Christians to learn to sacrifice and engage in evangelism, adding that such practices would attract instant blessings.

The priest asked Christians to shun arrogance and what he called ”foolish brevity” but to embrace humility and self-control while asking the youth to learn foreign languages as such skills could open doors

Lu, who is the Coordinator of the Chinese Charismatic Group on the Yide road, Sacred Heart of Jesus Cathedral, Guangzhou, recounted how they encountered Jesus Christ in Guangzhou City through Rev Fr Emmanuel Obimma on a visit to the area.

She said, “God used him to heal one of our brothers suffering from cancer and whose death date had been confirmed by medical experts.”
