An Ikeja Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting in Lagos on Tuesday arraigned a 13-year-old boy for allegedly defiling his neighbour’s 6-year-old daughter.
The prosecutor, Sgt. Rafael Donny told the court that the crime took place on June 6 at his parent’s house when no one was at home.
“The teenager, a Junior Secondary School 1 student residing with his parents at Iju Ishaga Area of the state tricked the 6-year-old child into his room and defiled her,” the prosecutor said, adding that the offences contravened Section 137 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.
The accused, whose name was not released due to his age, pleaded not guilty.
The Chief Magistrate handling the case, Tajudeen Elias, granted the suspect N250, 000 bail with two sureties in like sum.
Elias adjourned the case till July 20.
