12-year-old commits suicide after being allegedly scolded by teacher over menstrual stain

A 12-year-old girl from Senthil Nagar School in Tamil Nadu’s, Palayamkottai India, has reportedly committed suicide after jumping off the terrace of her neighbors house.

The 7th grader allegedly committed suicide after being shamed by her teacher for staining her clothes with menstrual blood in front of her class.

According to Indian Times, the parents were shocked and clueless until they found her suicide letter where she asked why her teacher complained about her like that.

According to the letter, her friends pointed out that her bench and uniform had menstrual blood stains.

In an Embarrassed state, she approached the teacher and asked for permission to go to the restroom but instead she was shamed and shouted at for not knowing how to place a pad properly.

The teacher then took her to see the principal, who allegedly scolded her as well.

Although the incident sparked protests from the parents of the pupil and members of the public, there have been no arrests yet as the issue is been investigated by the police.
