Some vigilante group at Yartala village in Kafur Local Government Area of Katsina State over the weekend killed and burnt the corpses of twelve suspected cattle rustlers.
According to residents of Yartala village, a peace meeting meant to foster unity among members of the community and the suspected cattle rustlers was called, but it turned out to be different as the suspected cattle rustlers were eliminated on arrival after the venue had been set for the meetings.
Bala Zama Senchi, the Katsina State Deputy Commissioner of Police, noted that he has not been briefed on the incident.
