About 100 alleged financial induced All Progressive Congress (APC) members in Onicha-Olona, Aniocha North Local Government Area of Delta State have dumped the party for the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the State.

But the PDP Publicity Secretary in the state, Mr. Michael Ifeanyi has termed as untrue allegation of financial inducement for the decampees, stating that they dumped APC over poor leadership and poor economic reforms which was part of the party’s agenda.

Speaking with DAILY POST, the State Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Mr. Emmanuel Chinye said that the people of Onicha-Olona have had their reasons to rejoice, especially the legacies of Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

While urging the decampees to rally round the administration of Okowa in ensuring that his agenda of creating prosperity for all Deltans is realized, the Commissioner further urged the people of Olona to get registered in the ongoing voters’ registration exercise, stressing that with their voters’ card, they will overwhemly support Okowa in his second term bid.

He described the change which was promised Nigerians in the last general elections as a hoax, citing the alleged continued haemorrhaging of the economic and the nonchalant attitude of the government and the centre towards the menace of herdsmen which had continued to claim lives of Nigerians, as classical examples of the APC’s failure, even as he presented the PDP card to the returnees.

One of the returnees, Engr. Anslem Mokwunye who spoke to DAILY POST said: “well, we have dump APC for PDP for us to benefit a real democratic dividends of Democracy, we have been suffering at APC level, and the leaders in PDP spoke to us to move into the party.”
