Ten students of Ugborikoko Secondary School in Uvwie Local Government Area of Delta State have been hospitalized after men of the Nigeria Police Force, allegedly shot teargas into the school in a bid to disperse some hoodlums around the school premises.

DAILY POST gathered that the students were rushed to the emergency ward Unit of Capitol Hill Hospital along Airport road after the incident.

Some of the students were said to be in critical condition while some have been resuscitated by medical personnel simply identified as Dr. Efemena.

It was learnt that some police officers were chasing after some hoodlums within the immediate vicinity of the school, which resulted to the unfortunate incident.

The Delta State Acting Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Andrew Aniamaka, who regretted the incident, however, said the teargas was not targeted at the students.

Meanwhile, DSP Aniamaka confirmed that the hoodlums have been arrested, adding that the Uvwie Council Chairman, Hon. Ramson Tega Onoyake and other stakeholders were meeting with the Police over the incident at the time of this report.
