The Secretary of the Bida Local Government Area in Niger State, Suleiman Sheshi, confirmed on Monday that 10 persons have died in the cholera outbreak in the area.
According to him, 60 cases have been reported at the Umaru Sanda General Hospital in Bida.
Sheshi, who doubles as the Health Director at the LGA, said he had visited some health centers in the area and confirmed that the centers had patients with cholera.
“Prompt action on our part will without save lives of patients who are presently critical points,” he stated.
Just last week, three Persons were confirmed dead as a result of cholera outbreak in Lokoja Local Government of Kogi State.
The Permanent Secretary, Kogi State Ministry of Health, Kolawole Johnson noted that the ministry recorded 17 suspected cases, which consist of nine Males and eight Females.
The outbreak according to the Permanent Secretary occurred in Kabawa community a remote area in the State Capital.
