1 kidnapper killed, four others nabbed in Ogun State

The Ogun State Police Command on Tuesday smashed a five-man gang of kidnappers for allegedly abducting a man who just returned to the country.

According to the State Police spokesperson, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, the kidnappers were rounded up by SARS operatives at Ita-Marun, Ijebu Ode area of the State.

The suspects are Ganiyu Olaiya, Segun Makanjuola, Bisi Akinleye and Bayo Adekunle.

Adejobi further stated that the fifth member of the gang was killed during a gun battle with the police.

He added that three members of the group were Christian clerics.

The police spokesperson also noted that items recovered from the police include one locally-made pistol and one jeep.
