1,800 intending pilgrims to perform Hajj from Zamfara

No fewer than 1,800 intending pilgrims from Zamfara State are expected to perform this year’s hajj in Saudi Arabia.

This was disclosed to DAILY POST in Gusau, the state capital by Chairman of Zamfara State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Abubakar S_ pawa Dambo.

According to the chairman, out of the 1,800 intending pilgrims from the State, 1,400 had already received their visa.

Continuing, S_Pawa noted that the remaining 400 would secure their visa as soon as possible, stressing that the commission would intensify more efforts to ensure that the 400 intending pilgrims beat the time.

“This is a religious issue and we cannot allow anybody wear bleak face because he or she may feel cheated at last,” he said.

Alhaji Sarkin Dambo further explained that the board had already concluded all necessary arrangements and that the airlifting has already started airlifting the cleared 1400 intending pilgrims to Saudi Arabia.

The chairman, however, used the opportunity to call on the intending pilgrims to be good ambassadors, never to involve in any unholy activities that would bring shame and tarnish the image and reputation of Zamfara state in particular and Nigeria in general.

Alhaji S Armin Pawa also advised them to avoid taking any item that has been prohibited in Saudi Arabia, pointing out that Saudi Arabian authority can never spare any illegitimate dealing which he said was violating the law of the land.

“Let me make it very clear here that neither the state government nor the federal government would not forgive any offender or offenders

Speaking further, he, however, advised the intending pilgrims to use the holy period to pray for peace and harmony in the state and the country as a whole.
